Mohammad Naim, a farmer from Chinzay village in Hazrat Sultan district of Samangan Province, discusses the importance of agriculture for the people of his village. "The people of our village are very poor and all of them are farmers. Due to the lack of agricultural water in the summer season, our lands remain barren every year, which was a serious problem for us. In order to store the water of the springs in the winter season and use it when necessary, the construction of this agricultural water reservoir was very necessary and important for the cultivation of the residents of this area," he says.
Naim goes on to explain how this project has provided a solution to the problem of unemployment and the needs of the villagers. "Now we are sure that our lands can provide food, vegetables, and fruits that we need for our families and children in the coming years, and there will be no need for our people to migrate to neighboring countries to work because this project has also created job opportunities. We will be able to cultivate crops two times yearly," he adds. Overall, the agricultural water reservoir project has had a positive impact on the lives of the people in Chinzay village by addressing their needs for water, food, and employment.
